WTO: Jason Hafemeister

Jason Hafemeister, Director for WTO Agriculture Negotiations at the U.S. Trade Representative's Office is responsible for coordinating the development of U.S. positions for the WTO negotiations. I had the opportunity to visit with him after Wednesday's Press briefing with the office of the US Trade Representative. Hafemeister came to USDA in 1991 to work on the Uruguay Round of multilateral trade negotiations and his work responsibilities have included China's accession to the WTO, dispute settlement cases under the WTO, and a stint at the U.S. Mission to the WTO in Geneva.
